WORK

I am a creative based out Oklahoma, but I was born and raised in Iowa. I've always had a love for the arts, but it became a key part of my life in 2020 when I started to paint as a way to combat my depression and anxiety. In early 2021, I decided to launch my business and pursue my passion of creating beautiful things for others. Currently, my top two goals are to illustrate a children's book and paint a mural - let me know if you have any advice!

My preferred medium is gouache or watercolor, but my ipad and procreate serve as a great way to make art when life doesn't allow me to spread my supplies all over the house. I've also had the pleasure of painting over 100 commissioned bouquet portraits on glass using acrylic paint.

Purpose

​

I make art because we could stand to have less gray in our lives. I'm still figuring out my style. All I know is that I want my art to be full of color, texture and whimsy. 

 

NAME

​

"Rei" is a shortened version of my middle name, Reiko. My grandmother's name was Reiko and I'm excited to carry her and my Japanese roots with me as I grow my business. 

 

LIFE

​

I have a beautiful family consisting of my husband, Jacob, a toddler, Lola, a goldendoodle, Dorothy, and golden retriever, Rigby. I work full-time as a study abroad advisor at a local university and manage my business on nights and weekends when Lola's asleep. I enjoy listening to music (especially Queen, Billie Eilish, and 40's jazz records from local antique stores), spending time with my family, reading and dreaming of my next travel destination.
